What this site does with your details.

adoptiontree.ai is the website of The Adoption Tree™ Model, published by Willem Knaap in Amsterdam. The site collects personal data only when you request the white paper: what you enter in the form, plus the technical details listed below. This page describes that in plain terms. Last updated 15 September 2026.

What is collected, and when

When you request the white paper, the form asks for your first name and your work email address, and you tick a consent box. The site records:

• your first name, your work email address (stored in lowercase) and the domain of that address (for example ing.com);
• the consent text you agreed to, its version, and the moment you agreed;
• how you arrived: campaign parameters in the link you clicked (utm_source and similar), the page that referred you, and the address of the page you landed on;
• when access was sent to you, when you opened the white paper, and how often.

For abuse protection the site keeps a scrambled (hashed) form of your connection address for one hour; the address itself is not stored by the site. Supabase, which runs the request handler, keeps its own technical request logs (including the connection address) for a short period as part of operating the service. Nothing else is collected. The site uses no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. It uses your browser's session storage to carry the campaign parameters, the referring page and the landing page address from the page you landed on to the form.

Why

• To send you access to the white paper by email and to let you open it.
• To understand professional interest in the research: which organisations, sectors and campaigns the requests come from. The organisation may be inferred from the email domain.
• Where you have agreed to it, to contact you by email about the white paper, its application within your organisation, related research and AI adoption services.

Who processes it

• Supabase hosts the database and stores the white paper; the data is held in the European Union (Frankfurt).
• Resend delivers the access email on our behalf.
• GitHub Pages serves this website, and Google Fonts serves its typefaces; both receive the usual technical requests from your browser.

Nobody else receives your details. They are not sold or shared for advertising.

How long

A scheduled job deletes request records 24 months after your last request. If you have unsubscribed or asked us to block emails, your name, organisation, consent record and how you arrived are removed after that point; your email address and its domain, that status, the request and download counts and the related dates are kept, so that we do not contact you again. The hashed connection address used for abuse protection is deleted by the same job, within two hours.

Your choices

• Every email we send contains an unsubscribe link, which opens a confirmation page. Unsubscribing stops all contact beyond the access link you requested.
• Write to willem@adoptiontree.ai to see, correct or delete what is stored about you.
• You can request the white paper again at any time; a new request refreshes your record, it does not reactivate contact you have opted out of.
